ART 101 is...

Each year Salem Art Works offers introductory level workshops in the fall and spring to high school students in the greater Capitol Region area. Art 101 is geared towards 11th and 12th grade students in high school.

This year we offer workshops in Glass Blowing, Blacksmithing, Welding, Silk Screen Printing, Polymer Clay Landscape Painting, Paper Embossing and Carving. Each workshop is instructed by a practicing artist at SAW. Learning at SAW is hands on and exploratory. Given basic guidelines, students are provided new skills and room to make their project their own, producing something they can take home.

Your class will visit SAW for a one-day intensive! Pick Workshops for your students to take, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Students can tour the sculpture park and learn about the facilities and mediums offered at SAW.

Before you bring your students to SAW schedule an classroom Artist visit to prepare, excite and talk to your students about Art 101.
