Introduction to Ceramics – Anagama/Train Kiln Firing


Workshop participants with receive instruction on basic clay modeling and construction. Participants will be introduced to different natural ash surfaces possible in the wood kilns at SAW. There will be suggested projects to help participants develop an understanding of the material and process. Pieces created in the workshop will be firing in the small or large wood-kiln. Each participant may fire up to one milk crate full of work in the wood-kiln.

What to Bring / Wear

Participants must have close-toed shoes or boots, natural clothes, and hair tied back

14 +, Participants under 18 must have a parent/guardian present
No previous experience required
