This workshop accommodates levels III and IV students.
Level III will understand basic principals of safety, equipment, and shop etiquette. Confidence with gas and MIG welding, oxyacetylene torch cutting, heating, and bending, and use of plasma cutter develops with practice. Students will be introduced to stick welding, setting of tanks, draining lines, cleaning tips, identifying and sorting metals, cleaning tools and equipment, adjusting equipment settings.
Level IV students will be introduced to preventative maintenance, basic repairs, sourcing and choosing materials, project management and advanced welding techniques e.g. TIG welding, silver soldering, stainless steel welding, and braising techniques. Emphasis for level IV is identifying different kinds of metal to choose appropriate techniques and equipment to get a desired result.
Saturday June 24 and Sunday June 25, 9:30am to 4pm
Cost: $200.00; Workshop fee includes materials and complimentary 3 hour studio time
Requirements: Participants must have close-toed shoes or boots, natural clothes, and hair tied back
