Blacksmithing - Make a Box Forge and Burner

This workshop is open to intermediate level students.

Come build a propane forge for blacksmithing and metalwork. Participants will build a forge and propane burner from furnished parts including necessary regulator, gauges valve and hose to connect to propane supply (tank not included). The forge is a portable unit perfect for use in shop or studio as well as temporary setups. The forge may also be used for metal casting as well. Skills covered will include basic burner design principles including some other burner designs, forge construction and working with refractory materials. 


Saturday September 16, 9:30am to 4pm

Cost: $430.00; Workshop fee includes materials and complimentary 3 hour studio time

Requirements: Participants must have close-toed shoes or boots, natural clothes, and hair tied back

14 +, Participants under 18 must have a parent/guardian present
