SAW workshops are taught by artists dedicated to sharing their knowledge and craft. Sign up for any one workshop, or multiple workshops, to develop new skills in your area of interest.
Each department outlines four levels of skill development specific to the medium in the descriptions below. Beginner workshops are taught to level I and II students. Intermediate workshops are taught to level III and IV students. Students who take all four levels will gain the necessary skills and confidence to work in SAW facilities independently.
To accommodate students unique schedules and learning styles, we offer both a weekend and a weekly beginner workshop schedule. Weekend Intensives meet 6 hours Saturday and Sunday, while Weekly Explorations meet from during the week for a 3 hour session. Students will develop level I and II skills in either track. We currently offer Weekly Explorations by appointment only, please contact the SAW office for availabilit.
All of SAW workshops include one complimentary 3 hour monitored studio time slot to give participants an opportunity to practice and develop their skills. Additional monitored studio time slots are available for a modest fee. Students who utilize studio time will acquire and develop their skills more quickly.
