Kiln Firing Proposal
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement *
Artists must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the start of the residency. Upon acceptance, proof of vaccination is required.

Large Kiln Participation
Resident Kiln Firer
Limited to 5-6 artists. To do this residency, artist are responsible for doing 4-6 shifts at the kiln depending on number of other firers. Each shift is approximately 6-8 hours depending on number of other firers.
How many cubic inches or feet will you drop off? (.07¢ per cubic inch)
Flat Top Kiln Participation (Formerly the 'Small Kiln')
Resident Kiln Firer
Please propose specific dates, a duration of time you are available, or a deadline when you must fire by. Schedule one day for loading, 48 hours of firing, totaling 4 days). The kiln cools for an additional 4 days before it may be unloaded.
New Small Kiln (Spitfire)

This one day (12 hours) kiln firing can be arranged as a workshop or residency.

Raku Kiln

Electric Kiln Firing
Max of Cone 04 ($40 per firing)

Housing and Meal Needs
If you would like us to know anything else about your proposal, please describe below. Including: Preference of dates, housing, dietary needs, deadlines, etc.
Submit

Upon submitting this application, Salem Art Works will send you an estimated cost and confirm availability. You will need to confirm in order for us to follow up with an invoice to confirm your booking. Upon your confirmation, a 50% deposit will be due and the remaining 50% will be due upon arrival. Custom payment plans are available. Cancellations must be made 30 days or more prior to the residency to receive a full reimbursement. If you cancel in less than 30 days of the start date of your residency, there is a $50 fee. No full refunds will be made after the start of the residency.
