Founded in 2005 by Anthony Cafritz. Salem Art Works is dedicated to supporting both emerging and established artists in the creation of new progressive work, as well as promoting the understanding and appreciation of contemporary art within the region. Based upon this tenet, SAW offers opportunities in four focal areas:  cultural events, exhibitions, educational workshops, and artist programs.

Ruby Tumble Stack Trail System We have repurposed over four miles of former logging trails that meander through the entire property, which will attract visitors to the Salem area and to Southern Washington County.  This spring vehicles will be able to easily drive and park at the top of Cary Hill Sculpture Park, exercise enthusiasts can run on the trails and families can spend the afternoon enjoying the panoramic views of beautiful Upstate New York and Vermont.....read more

Barn 1 Renovations Salem Art Works’ facilities and grounds are in the process of being completely realized.  With the addition of a number of new heated studio spaces, SAW can now thoroughly accommodate winter residents. With multiple large open rooms, wide stairs and a rolling glass garage door, Barn 1 is now a fully operational and flexible space. SAW’s new facilities are able to fully meet the needs of all artists, and their creative endeavors.  ...read more

Pangaea Restaurant and Lounge  Now on display in North Bennington’s esteemed Pangaea Restaurant painters reveal their most recent work.  Walter Dunnington, a Bennington alumni and Enid Sanford, a New York City painter, exhibit their work curated by Anthony Cafritz, Founder of Salem Art Works.
