JENNY HILLENBRAND

Born in Rochester, NY, Jenny Hillenbrand lives and works in Upstate, NY. Jenny has been the Director of Programs at Salem Art Works (SAW) since 2013. She oversees all aspects of the artist experience: workshops, rentals, artist-in-residencies, youth programs, and the SAW store. Jenny is lead facilitator for SAW's ongoing international exchange program, salem2salem, a partnership with the Cultural Department of Lake Constance in Salem, Germany. She holds a BFA and Art Education Minor from Alfred University (2011). Her emphasis is on drawing, photography, sculpture, and performance. Jenny has curated exhibitions for venues in New York and New England, and has led workshops in performance, 2D/3D media, and social practice. Jenny has been an artist-in-residence at Milsaps College, Stone Quarry Art Park, and Watershed Center for Ceramics. Jenny has collaborated with Jonas Lindberg (Bootin’ Around and the Adventure Courtyard), Emily Smith and Laura Zelda Smith (Six and Four Articulations 6-Week Performance Tour) and Laura Zelda Smith (en plein air). Since 2010, Jenny has maintained an active collaboration with Mississippi-based artist Kristen Tordella-Williams called Lifetime Guarantee. The duo has presented sculpture and performance throughout the Northern and Southern United States and in Germany.
